Dynamic MRI (left) vs SPION-enhanced MRI (right) in a patient with hepatocellular carcinoma (SPION type not specified). On the dynamic MR image, a number of enhancing lesions (arrows) are seen. On the SPION-enhanced MRI, all but one of these are suppressed, with only the hepatocellular carcinoma with reduced SPION uptake being apparent. At surgery, only the lesion present on the SPION-enhanced sequence was found to be malignant
